Dyana Koelsch works with DK Communications clients to effectively and strategically communicate their messages both directly and through the media. With a decade of Public Relations experience, Koelsch has helped clients with product launches, rebranding efforts, crisis communication and developing effective social media campaigns. As a former journalist, Koelsch has a deep understanding of what motivates reporters and the implications of news stories in the political and business climate. As an award winning investigative and political reporter at Providence’s NBC television station Koelsch covered multiple presidential campaigns and traveled to two war zones to cover military operations and international refugees. Her reporting has had a direct impact on changing laws.
Prior to launching DK Communications, Dyana was an Assistant State Court Administrator for the Rhode Island Judiciary where she was responsible for community outreach and public relations. Her responsibilities included communications surrounding high profile trials, crafting legislative strategy and implementing an educational program designed to demystify the legal system.
Since 2000 Koelsch has been serving as an adjunct professor at the U.S. Naval War College in Newport where she instructs flag officers on the military/media relationship and conducts media training. She has lectured at Harvard’s John F. Kennedy School of Government and Brown University.
A graduate of the University of Rhode Island, Dyana holds Bachelor degrees in Journalism and Sociology. She served on the Board of Trustees for Bradley Hospital, is on the Board of Tanner Hill Children’s Services, and serves as a conservator of the Providence Public Library.

Jim Taricani works with DK Communications cultivating and servicing clients for the firm. Taricani is a former award winning journalist as well as a communications director for former Rhode Island Governor Lincoln Almond.
Taricani’s media experience also extends to radio and print journalism. He has been featured in Rhode Island Monthly Magazine and various other publications.
With nearly four decades of journalistic experience, Taricani has first hand knowledge of the mind set and techniques of reporters. He knows what reporters look for, especially in crisis situations.
Taricani has interviewed hundreds of public officials including several U.S Presidents, foreign dignitaries and experts in science and technology.
He became a nationally recognized advocate for a federal shield law for journalists and testified before the House Judiciary Committee in Washington in favor of the Free Flow of Information Act.
Taricani has also been a guest speaker at the National Press Club in Washington D.C.
Taricani has won four television Emmy awards, the Edward R. Murrow award for investigative reporting as well as the prestigious Yankee Quill Award.
While he was communications director for the Almond administration, he developed a statewide political message and strategy. In this role he supervised a press office of 5 people.
As a reporter, Taricani has covered numerous federal, state and local political campaigns. He is well versed in both political and campaign strategy.
Taricani is well known and respected in the Rhode Island community. He was the youngest person ever to be inducted into the Rhode Island Heritage Hall of Fame.
He is considered a leader in the community and has volunteered for a number of non-profits and serves on the board of the Southern New England branch of the American Heart Association.
His reporting has had a positive impact on the citizens of Rhode Island and has resulted in laws being changed.
Taricani attended Central Connecticut State University and is a veteran of the United States Air Force.

Nathaniel helps a variety of clients reach targeted audiences with finely tuned and impactful messaging. His writing on behalf of our clients has been published in The Providence Journal, Providence Business News, Rhode Island Monthly, Wall Street Journal, The New York Times, New England Real Estate Journal, and RI Ring papers. Nathaniel is proficient in speech writing and has worked with notable politicians to best convey their message and vision. Nathaniel has traveled the world while writing about his experiences. His recent work includes stories from the canals of Amsterdam, documenting the tribes of Northern Thailand, in depth studies on the tourist industry in Malaysia, and a stunning look at the crime ridden streets of Frankfurt, Germany.
Nathaniel has spearheaded several campaigns for DK Communications, leading to significant increase in revenue for clients, as well as substantially increasing their exposure and business-to-business opportunities. Nathaniel is an alumnus of Quinnipiac University where he studied Public Relations and Journalism. Prior to coming to DK Communications, Nathaniel worked in the Managing Attorney Department at the premier full-service law firm of Kramer Levin Naftalis & Frankel LLP in New York City. While there Nathaniel assisted attorneys in a number of practice areas, including cross-border corporate and finance, mergers and acquisitions, intellectual property, joint ventures and other disciplines.

An integrated marketing and PR strategist, Jane’s broad background includes messaging and content development, media relations, thought leadership and business strategy for technology, financial services, healthcare, and consumer companies of all sizes from start-ups to major corporations.
